Why isn’t my solar farm making energy?

There could be a number of issues preventing your plant from operating including communication errors, broken inverters, deteriorated connections, or a myriad of other issues. What is telemetry?

Telemetry is the communication system between the power plant and the grid. The grid must balance the generation and consumption of electricity, so having secure, fast, and accurate data is essential.

Is installing solar worth the price?

Electricity from solar is very valuable, so a solar farm typically produces considerably more money per acre than traditional crops. However, it requires a large initial investment which the site conditions affect greatly, so the payback time can vary from a few years to beyond the life of the plant. What is an interconnection agreement?

Before a power plant can connect to the grid it must go through several studies to make sure all components are working properly and what the effects of the plant on the grid will be. The interconnection agreement is required to operate the plant and it can take as long as several years to complete the interconnection process.

How do I sell the power I am producing?

Electricity is sold through the independent service operator at the price for that time period. You can achieve a more stable income through a power purchase agreement; where someone agrees to buy power from the grid at a set price and time and you agree to put that much power onto the grid at the same price and time.
